Team Heretics have defeated FunPlus Phoenix in the second match of the day at the Valorant Champions Seoul. The Europeans' map wins came on Abyss and Lotus after two heated overtimes. Meanwhile, the Asian roster's map win came on Bind (13-9).

The first map of the series began with a great Team Heretics start as the Europeans took an early 4-1 lead. However, the team's momentum quickly faded away as FunPlus Phoenix managed to win seven consecutive rounds to swap sides while having a four-round lead.

It was then that the tables turned as Team Heretics reached map point after winning eight of their first nine attacks. Although the Asian-majority roster pushed Team Heretics to overtime, the Europeans closed the map after successfully winning the final two rounds.

On Bind, FunPlus Phoenix drew the series as they led Los Niños during the whole map. After round fourteen, the VCT China team had a six-round lead. Although Team Heretics managed to cut the difference to just one round, FunPlus Phoenix ended up winning the map by 13-9.

Eventually, the series was decided on Lotus, where both teams had to go to overtime to crown a winner. Unfortunately for FunPlus Phoenix, Team Heretics' comeback concluded with a 15-13 win for the Europeans.

With this result, Team Heretics will play against Gen.G Esports in Group B's Upper Bracket Final. This means that we will have a replay of the VCT Masters Shanghai grand final on August 6. Meanwhile, FunPlus Phoenix will play against Sentinels in Group B's Elimination Match.
