Team Heretics have defeated the VCT 2024 EMEA League champions Fnatic to move to the Valorant Champions Seoul Upper Bracket quarterfinals. Los Niños ran over the orange roster on Lotus (13-3) and closed the series with a 14-12 win on Abyss.
Against all the odds, Team Heretics took the first map of the series with a rock-solid victory on Fnatic's map pick. Team Heretics' Turkish duo of Mert "Wo0t" Alkan and Enes "RieNs" Ecirli were the best players on Lotus with ACSs of 289 and 242, respectively.
Shortly after, Team Heretics' 5-0 start on Abyss made the fans think the second map would follow the trend seen on Lotus. However, after swapping sides with an advantage of six rounds, Fnatic won four consecutive rounds to cut the difference to only two. Eventually, the orange roster would reach the map point first.
Despite Fnatic's best efforts to force the third map of the series, Team Heretics secured Abyss after defusing the Spike in the roster's final two defensive rounds of the game.
With this result, Team Heretics have moved to the Upper Bracket semifinals, where they will play against Leviatán, who defeated G2 Esports in today's first game. Meanwhile, Fnatic will play against the Berlin-based organization in the first round of the Lower Bracket.
