Team BDS and LFO have qualified for the Charlotte Major after BDS’ 7-1 victory over G2 Esports. Such a one-sided result has put G2 Esports in serious trouble, as the European squad need Heroic to defeat Rogue in order to qualify for May’s Major.
A very slow G2 Esports on attack could do nothing to stop the Frenchmen, with the team’s only round win coming in the very first round. Stéphane “Shaiiko” Lebleu stole the show as he surpased the 100 kills tally in one stage for the fifth time in a row.
The Charlotte Major is going to be Team BDS’ third appearence at a Siege Major, with the first one being the most memorable – a run that saw the French reaching the semifinals, missing out on the Grand Final by just one round.
Team BDS’ last international appearence was tumultuous, as Adrien “RaFaLe” Rutik was unable to compete during rounds one and two of the Six Invitational 2022. Although the French player was eventually allowed to compete from round three and onwards, Team BDS could do nothing to avoid the disaster.
The current European League champions aren’t the only happy team in France though, as this victory has also qualified LFO for the Charlotte Major.
The team previously representing Team Vitality defeated PWNZ in the very first match of the day by a narrow 7-5 margin. Due to them having a better round difference than G2 Esports, LFO have qualified for the upcoming Major. They will now be hoping to sign with a new organization prior to the Major, which will run from May 16 to 22
