GSC Game World confirmed on November 23 that STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl will get the game's first patch sometime during the last week of November.
The release of the game was welcomed with open arms by the FPS community. It didn't take long for the game to become one of Steam's top sales, temporarily beating free-to-play titles like Counter-Strike 2.
Despite the players' huge expectations, STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl has exceeded them. So far, the post-apocalyptic world has left the community mesmerized with both the features included in the game and the great landscapes.
However, there's something that can't be ignored: bugs. As with any other brand-new video game, developers have to work on fixes to solve post-release issues that players spot. Obviously, STALKER 2 isn't an exception.
On November 23, GSC Game World unveiled what the first patch of the game will include. Unfortunately, a release date for the patch hasn't been revealed yet.
Here's what will be released in the game STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl's first patch, according to the game's post on Steam:
Crash Fixes
- Issues and memory allocation failures, which previously caused the game to exit unexpectedly, particularly around rendering, skeletal meshes, and quest-related cutscenes.
Main Quest Progression Fixes
- Several bugs blocking the main quest progression, NPCs getting stuck in objects, incorrect quest markers, and issues with quest cutscenes.
- Revision of the main quests (like Visions of Truth or A Minor Incident) to ensure smooth transitions, avoiding rare cases of players not being able to proceed further.
Gameplay & Balance Adjustments
- Fixing the price of the weapons with upgrades installed compared to their value without attachments.
- NPCs behavior, including the way they act when lacking a shelter during the Emissions.
Cutscenes & Visual Fixes
- Rarely missing facial animations, misplaced NPCs, and visual inconsistencies like detached heads and clothes clipping.
- Quality and stability improvements of the visual effects.
Softlock Fixes
- The where players were unable to close the trade screen after putting ammo in a wrong slot while playing on a gamepad.
User Interface Improvements
- Quest notifications now show correctly during dialogues.
- Corrected texts and missing interaction prompts.
Additionally, GSC Game World has unveiled that bugfixes will be implemented to solve the issue regarding analogue sticks dead zones and an A-Life system bugfix.
