Blizzard announced many new features coming to Overwatch 2 during the Spotlight event, with the new Stadium mode being one of them.

This is a new game 5v5 mode that will consist of seven rounds of already existing modes but with a few objective twists and map adjustments to make each round quicker than the normal mode.

The mode will allow players to play in either first-person or third-person view, and this can be adjusted at any point.

In each round, players will earn points that can be used to buy "mods." These are gameplay adjustments or enhancements that will help your team during the game.

The mods can be purchased and equipped through a special shop, which we believe will open in between each round, and the list will be different for each hero.

As mentioned by the developers, some of these mods were already tested in the past year during different events, like Junkenstein's Laboratory mode in the Halloween Terror 2024 event.

Stadium is scheduled to come out in Season 16, which is expected sometime in April of this year. For the full reveal, you can watch the Overwatch 2 Spotlight video below starting at the 20:10 mark.
