Soniqs have become the third team to qualify for the Six Jönköping Major after defeating Mirage on the final play day of Stage 3.
It's been a resoundingly strong stage for Soniqs, who brought Emilio "Geometrics" Leynez and Shaun "Gunnar" Pottorff heading ino the third stage of the season. The move aimed to replace a Spacestation Gaming-bound Alexander "Yeti" Lawson and a retiring Seth "supr" Hoffman, who had been the team's longtime IGL.
The move worked, as Soniqs only lost three games in nine in Stage 3, falling to TSM FTX, Oxygen Esports, and Astralis.
Soniqs missed out on the Charlotte Major after finishing Stage 1 in eighth place. It got better for them in Stage 2, with a second place finish, just behind Astralis.
At the Berlin Major, though, Soniqs ended at the bottom of the Group B standings, after sharing the group with FaZe Clan, G2 Esports, and SANDBOX Gaming.
This stage, Richie "Rexen" Coronado and Pablo "Gryxr" Reveil have statistically been the best players on the team, with SiegeGG Ratings of 1.17 and 1.14, respectively.
The Jönköping Major will be Soniqs' first international event without Seth "supr" Hoffmann, as the team has moved on after his retirement. It will also be Gunnar's first global event after only making his professional debut in June.
