Although Black Ops 6 is pretty much around the corner, leaks regarding Call of Duty 2025 have already appeared online.
According to user FumoLeaks on X (formerly Twitter), Activision had a private meeting with a focus group to reveal several details about the next title.
The game's title or main developer wasn't revealed, but the presentation had information about its three major game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies.
On the campaign side, the story is apparently taking place in 2035 and will have David Mason from Black Ops 2 as the main protagonist. Insider-Gaming previously reported that this year's title will be a direct Black Ops 2 sequel, so this only increases the chances of that being real.
For Multiplayer, the leaker claims that classic maps are coming back and we could also see the return of the Uplink game mode, which last appeared in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's Multiplayer. The classic maps could refer to remasters of maps like Raid, Standoff, etc.
The leaker mentioned that Omnimovement, the new omnidirectional movement from Black Ops 6, is also coming back. However, they also specified that a brand-new wall climb mechanic will be introduced, justifying the return of a jetpack-dependent mode that is Uplink.
The leaks indicate that Zombies will be the third major game mode, with classic round-based maps staying for the long run. The leaker mentions we will see one of the biggest round-based zombies maps and will feature some sort of transportation system.
This immediately reminds us of Tranzit, so a remaster or a similar map is not out of the question. Inspiration from Black Ops 2 doesn't end there as the leaker ends by saying that an 8-player mode is also in the works, similar to what Grief was in the 2012 title.
This is not the only rumor we've seen about future titles, as information about the development of a possible Modern Warfare 4 was leaked a few months ago. You can also check out our Black Ops 6 zombies guide to see what the latest title will offer at launch.
