The now-former Soniqs head coach and General Manager Seth "supr" Hoffman has unveiled the organization's decision to exit Rainbow Six Siege's competitive scene.
According to supr's statement on his personal X account, following the conclusion of the BLAST R6 Major Montreal, he was told that the organization didn't want to continue investing in Rainbow Six Siege. The coach also confirmed he's no longer part of Soniqs.
With Soniqs parting ways with the American roster, the organization has transferred supr the team's Rainbow Six Siege license. This would allow the roster to compete in an "orgless capacity at Six Invitational if needed." Both supr and the players' goal is to find a new team to represent not just at the Six Invitational 2025 but also in the upcoming season.
In the statement, the coach explained that "Ubisoft has been extremely helpful in assisting us look for an organization" and "great conversations" with organizations have already taken place "in both pre and post Invitational capacities."
Last but not least, supr made clear that the roster is "staying together" as the players and the coach "are confident that the culture we have built is unlike any other and will lead to even greater success than Soniqs R6 was able to achieve."
While an official statement hasn't been released by Soniqs, the organization's decision to part ways with the Rainbow Six Siege competitive scene is likely due to the team's absence in next season's R6 Share program.
The organizations included in the program were unveiled during the BLAST R6 Major Montreal and, so far, four North American teams have been confirmed in DarkZero Esports, M80, Spacestation Gaming, and Wildcard.
Soniqs joined the Rainbow Six Siege competitive scene in March 2019. Since then, the team has taken part in seven Six Majors and three Six Invitationals. Internationally, the organization's best results include two Major semifinals and two Six Invitational Top 6 finishes. Meanwhile, the team's best regional results include two North America League first-place finishes and a NAL 2021 Finals championship.
