Today, Saudi Arabia's $2m tournament Gamers8 has announced the groups for the first phase of the competition.
The current world champions, G2 Esports, have been put in Group A alongside Ninjas in Pyjamas, M80, and Team Falcons. Meanwhile, the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen champions, w7m esports, will share Group B with Oxygen Esports, Team BDS, and CYCLOPS athlete gaming.
While all G2 Esports, Oxygen Esports, w7m esports, and Team Falcons had been invited to the competition, Team BDS, CYCLOPS athlete gaming, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and M80 made their way to the Saudi Arabian tournament after winning their respective regional qualifiers.
Gamers8 is expected to begin on Jul. 13 and will conclude on Jul. 16. While G2 Esports and w7m esports are the favorites to win the tournament, Team BDS are the current champions.
