Season 2025 Act 1 is out in Valorant, bringing a new agent called Tejo and other new features like the FLEX cosmetics.
Alongside the new season's release, Riot Games posted a dev video where they talk about some of these new features and stuff we can expect later in the year.
As you probably know by now, Riot has dropped the old season format and adopted a new one. Season 2025 will run for the entirety of the year, divided into six Acts.
Even though Tejo was just released, Riot has confirmed that two more agents will be added throughout this year, bringing the tally of new characters to three.
The developers also confirmed the following changes and adjustments are coming during the first half of the year:
- Iso: Power budget redistribution on his kit.
- Neon: Balance adjustments after her changes from patch 9.11.
- Deadlock: Adjustments to her sound sensors and a boost on her aggressive potential.
- Harbor: Changes to make him more enjoyable and increase his pick rate.
On the competitive side, the map pool rotation will change every act. The amount of changes will vary each time, but many have asked for this in the past. Ranks have reset for the beginning of Act 1 and there will be another reset in the middle of the year.
As promised a few months back, a rank refund system will be implemented if a player has been found guilty of cheating and banned for it. Devs promised more details about this feature will be shared later during Act 1, meaning its implementation shouldn't be too far away.
Lastly, the replay system was mentioned in the video but there is still not a release date for it as the development team is working to make the necessary compromises to make the tool useful. One thing that's talked about in the video is how they want to handle lag compensation.
