Rainbow Six Siege Y9S2.3 Patch Notes: Azami's Kiba Barriers nerfed, Melusi gets extra Banshee, Ela gets impacts, and more!

Here's what's going to change in Rainbow Six Siege with Patch Y9S2.3.

Ela Rainbow Six Siege

Ubisoft are making some outstanding changes one week before the start of the Esports World Cup. With Y9S2.3, players will have to adapt to a handful of changes that, even though won't change the meta, will have a huge impact on how some operators are played.

Here are all of the updates that are coming to Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege with the launch of Patch Y9S2.3:

Azami

Following the launch of Y9S1, Ubisoft's Azami buff allowed players to destroy the Kiba Barriers with bullets. While attackers couldn't shoot the player behind the protection, the gadget would be destroyed after a certain number of bullets landed on the barrier.

Despite considerably nerfing Azami's gadget back then, Ubisoft decided to make another change in Y9S2.3. Starting with the game's upcoming patch, players will have it easier when it comes to destroying the barrier from a longer distance as Ubisoft have increased the damage dealt by weapons.

Here's how each weapon's damage has changed, according to Ubisoft's official blog post:

  • Increased damage received by Handguns:
    • 20% by Small calibers (e.g. USP40).
    • 30% by Medium calibers (e.g. M45 MEUSOC).
    • 20% by High calibers (e.g. D-50).
  • Increased by 20% the damage received by Revolvers.
  • Increased by 30% the damage received by Machine Pistols.
  • Increased damage increased by Submachine Guns:
    • 30% by Small calibers (e.g. Mx4 Storm).
    • 20% by Medium calibers (e.g. K1A).
    • 20% by High calibers (e.g. UZK50GI).
  • Increased by 20% the damage received by Assault Rifles.
  • Increased by 20% the damage received by Light Machine Guns.
  • Increased by 20% the damage received by Designated Marksman Rifles.
  • Increased by 20% the damage received by Sniper Rifles.
    • 150% by CSRX 300.

Melusi

Although Melusi's speed isn't changing, which means she will keep being a one-speed operator, she is getting buffed differently: Melusi is getting a fourth Banshee. Additionally, Melusi is getting the ITA12S.

Unfortunately, there's a nerf too as Melusi is losing the magnifying scopes for the MP5.

Wamai

Wamai fans, look away, as Ubisoft will be nerfing the defender: starting with Y9S2.3, Wamai won't have access to any magnifying scopes.

Ela

Ela is getting buffed in Y9S2.3 as Ubisoft's developers have decided to remove Ela's Observation Blocker as the gadget will be replaced with Impact Grenades.

Echo

Ubisoft have decided to update Echo's speed. Starting with Y9S2.3, the Japanese operator will be a one-speed character. However, he will get magnifying scopes for the MP5SD.

Buck

Buck is getting a minor nerf as the Canadian operator is losing the Gonne-6.

Gridlock

Ubisoft have buffed Gridlock, with the Aussie's Trax Stingers delivering 15 HP damage per second (from 10 HP).
