Earlier today, Rainbow Six Siege announced the opening of the game’s Test Lab, including a bunch of changes to some of the most important weapons in the title.
As expected, the changes haven’t been welcomed by the community. Unfortunately, the tweaks are far from what the players expected from Ubisoft.
But, what’s changing? Most importantly, how is this situation affecting the live version of Rainbow Six Siege?

What is Rainbow Six Siege’s Test Lab?
Rainbow Six Siege’s Test Server is a second version of the game where Ubisoft introduces operator and map changes so the community can try them out and provide feedback to the developers.
This means that nerfs and buffs introduced to the Test Server aren’t necessarily changes that will hit Rainbow Six Siege any time soon. However, seeing changes on the Test Server gives the community a brief look at what the developers have been planning for the future of the game.
Rainbow Six Siege Test Lab Changes - G36C nerfed, SMG-11 tweaked, Ace’s gadget changes, and more!
As we head to the Six Invitational 2024, any change released to the game will be extremely controversial. Here’s what could come to Rainbow Six Siege soon, as all of these tweaks have already been introduced to the Test Server Lab!
Ash and Iana’s G36C to be nerfed
The community has been hit by the news of a potential nerf coming to Rainbow Six Siege’s G36C.
As of now, this is Iana and Ash’s first option as a primary weapon. A nerf to the G36C could weaken their respective loadouts, which are very important for most of best attacking lineups in Siege’s current meta.
SMG-11 damage nerf
The news also includes a potential nerf to Smoke and Solis’ SMG-11. This is a crucial weapon for their loadouts as they often use a shotgun as a primary weapon.
If the SMG-11 became off-meta, both Solis and Smoke would be heavily impacted by the changes.
Shield free look, changes to meleeing
Changes to shield operators have been introduced to the Test Server Lab. Now, players can have a 180-degree free look while using the shield.
At the same time, changes to how shield operators can melee have been introduced to the Test Server Lab. Now, the operators are fully protected by the shield.
Dash through barricades
A new animation is being tried on the Test Server Lab when it comes to opening barricades.
In Rainbow Six Siege, players must hit a barricade three times to fully open it or hit it twice and then jump in. With this new animation, players can still use their weapons while getting into the building while using the second method.
S.E.L.M.A. fuse time increased
Ace’s S.E.L.M.A.’s fuse time has been increased. However, the change is hardly noticeable. Don’t worry Ace fans!
SPAS-15 to be nerfed
Caveira’s SPAS-15 will be temporarily nerfed in this new version of the Test Server Lab.
Other changes include tweaks to the Ballistic Shield.
