REJECT on Jul. 11 announced the departure of its coach, Naoya "Pep" Satou, amidst its strong run in Stage 2 of the 2022 APAC North season.
Pep had only joined reject prior to the start of the 2022 season and had evidently worked on "improving [their] basic fundamentals as a team" after they secured promotion to APAC North for the 2022 season.
During his time with REJECT, they finished last in Stage 1 in APAC North, second in the FAV Cup 2022, and were quarterfinalists at the Japan League 2022 Season 1 playoffs. However, the team has shown a dramatic improvement in Stage 2 and currently finds itself in third in APAC North after four play days.
Time will tell if REJECT will secure Berlin Major qualification, or if Pep's departure will hinder that bid.
