Just in time for summer and the 2024 Olympic games in France, Summer Games 2024 will arrive in Season 11 of Overwatch 2. A new iteration of the annual event will bring back a large amount of content from past years, along with a few additions.

In case you are waiting for its return, here is everything we know about it so you can prepare accordingly.

Start date

Summer Games 2024 begins on Tuesday, July 9, arriving alongside the upcoming Transformers collaboration. Following the traditional schedule, the content will be released in-game at 11:00 am PT (7:00 pm BST).

Blizzard hasn't revealed the duration of the event, but we expect it to be around three weeks maximum.

Game modes

The launch trailer for Season 11 revealed that both Lucio Ball and Winston's Beach Ball will make a return. The former was introduced in the first iteration of the Summer Games back in 2016, while the latter was recently added in the 2023 edition.

Both game modes should have their playlist in the Arcade section of the game so you can jump in and get some games in as soon as the event starts.

Cosmetics and rewards

The event will most likely bring new cosmetics, with some available to unlock by simply playing the game modes from the event and completing challenges.

If you are wondering about the lifeguard skins from Kiriko, Lifeweaver, and Roadhog, those three will only be available to purchase through the shop. The three skins will be added on Tuesday, June 30, probably once the event finishes if there are no changes.
