Jade weapon skins were introduced as a new reward at the beginning of Season 9 for Overwatch 2, coinciding with the launch of the new rank features and the partial reset.
If you want to get your hands on one of those skins, maybe for your favorite hero, we have prepared a guide to explain everything you need to know.
How to get jade weapons
Jade weapon skins are green variants of each character's main weapon and can be purchased at any moment from your Hero menu.
These skins are priced at 3000 competitive points each, meaning that you will have to get them individually.
Their price will remain the same throughout the remainder of the competitive year, which is set to end on February 2025. After that, it is expected that these weapon skins will only be available to purchase using legacy competitive points like the gold weapons.
The game will probably receive a new weapon skin variant for the next year, taking the current place of jade weapons.
How to get competitive points
As of Season 9, competitive points can only be obtained by playing competitive matches. Players will receive 10 points per win and 5 points per tie, while defeats won't give any.
However, this currency expires after each season, meaning that you won't be able to accumulate them over time. Once a season is over, any competitive points you earned during that period will be converted into legacy competitive points and you will start the next season with zero competitive points.
