Like in previous weeks, a new major order has been issued for all Helldivers 2 players through the game's official social pages.
The order in question seems to be one of the biggest so far, as it tasks players with wiping out the Automatons once and for all. It appears that Super Earth's high command made this order after discovering plans for a large-scale attack from the bot faction.

The operation, titled 'Swift Disassembly,' will take place in the Trigon Sector and will probably take a while to complete.
Hours before this announcement, players were hearing a new transmission in-game from the Automatons where they claimed that Super Earth citizens would be left alone if they lost the war. The bots claimed their only objective was to reclaim Cyberstan, their home, and rebuild what was destroyed.
It remains to be seen whether this is a bluff or a real message. Super Earth sympathizers online have started to claim that this is just "bot propaganda," and others have started to question whether they're playing as the "bad guys" in this war.

Who knows how the Helldivers 2 narrative will progress if the Automatons end up being destroyed after this operation, but that just makes us think that maybe the developers are planning to add another faction in the future.
