Etienne “Mag” Rousseau has announced his retirement as a professional Rainbow Six Siege player. The Australian’s post on X comes one month after Fnatic’s decision to drop the majority of its Rainbow Six Siege squad.
Before joining Fnatic, the Australian made his international debut for Mindfreak at the Six Invitational 2018. Against all of the odds, the team qualified for the quarterfinals, where they lost against Black Dragons.
Under the orange organization, Mag competed in multiple tournaments including the Six Invitational 2019, the Six Invitational 2020, the Six Major Paris, and two Pro League Finals.
The Australian was the only member left from Fnatic’s original roster. With this announcement, the player ends an almost seven-year-old professional career in Rainbow Six Siege.
Meanwhile, Fnatic’s future in Rainbow Six Siege looks uncertain. While the team made it clear in Nov. 2023 that “we are taking this opportunity to explore our options," no updates have been released since the last update.
