There is no shortage of gaming icons running around the Fortnite island cranking 90s. However, one missing is Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher. According to leaks, that could change relatively soon.
Is the Splinter Cell x Fortnite collab real?
ShiinaBR, a prominent dataminer and leaker in the Fortnite community, shared information by insiders stating that Ubisoft could collab once more with Epic Games to bring Splinter Cell content into the battle royale.
Sadly, there's no further information beyond the rumblings of insiders. But if it's any consolation for fans, Ubisoft has previously collaborated with Epic Games on a number of skins. Both Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed II and Eivor Varinsdottir from Valhalla joined Fortnite in 2022.
The thing that's making Splinter Cell fans wary however is the fact that the franchise has been absent from the limelight for well over a decade. The last mainline game in the series, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, was released in 2013.
In December 2021, the company revealed they started development on a remake of the first game. Almost a year later, in October 2022, it was revealed that game director David Grivel had left Ubisoft and the project.

Going from bad to worse, just this past November, it was revealed that the live-action Splinter Cell film adaptation was canceled, with one of the producers citing the script and budget as the main issues.
Despite all of the above, Ubisoft is moving forward with an anime adaptation on Netflix, set to release at some point in 2025. This could very well mean that a Splinter Cell Fortnite collaboration would be the perfect way to promote the series.
