Bungie wants The Final Shape to be a complete celebration of the Destiny franchise and they've just announced the return of a beloved exotic weapon that had been completely absent from the sequel up until now: the Khvostov 7G-0X exotic auto rifle.
The Khvostov was an exotic gun introduced with the Rise of Iron expansion, the last DLC the first Destiny received back in 2016. It was a very unique exotic assault rifle, as it didn't have an exclusive perk, rather, players got to enjoy a highly customizable gun with hundreds of perk combinations.
For its return in Destiny 2 eight years later, the Khvostov 7G-0X will have a unique exotic perk as Bungie revealed that every seventh shot fired will ricochet hitting other enemies.
From the looks of the teaser trailer, it won't exactly work like the Ricochet Rounds perk does as this bullet fired by the Khvostov seems to directly hone in on other enemies, bouncing at least three more times.
We know little of exotic weapons that will debut in The Final Shape so it's nice to see Bungie slowly revealing them. Fans have been aware of the Tessellation exotic fusion rifle, although that can be acquired right now by pre-ordering the expansion.
What we do know is other types of exotic content, such as armor, and even class items. That's right, starting with The Final Shape, players will be able to acquire exotic class items with plenty of perk combinations to help them create builds with the brand-new Prismatic subclass.
As soon we know how to get our hands on this new rendition of the Khvostov 7G-0X we'll be giving you all the necessary details, as well as a more detailed breakdown of the perks the weapon will boast this time around.
