How to show FPS in CS2

Having a stable frames-per-second level is essential in any shooter game, so we wouldn't be surprised if you're wondering how to show your FPS in CS2. The games feature a graphical improvement over its predecessor, meaning that some PCs might find it harder to run at an optimal FPS level.

How to show FPS in CS2?

Just like in CSGO, there isn't a conventional settings menu where you can activate the telemetry in CS2. In order to do it, you'll need to input a special command in the console that is integrated within the game.

Here are the simple steps you'll need to follow:

  • Once you're in the game, press "~" to open the console.
  • Then type the following command "cl_showfps 1" and hit enter.

Once you've done it, the FPS counter will appear on the top left side of the screen in red letters (see the image below). If at any point you find this feature annoying or you just simply want to deactivate it, just open the console and type the following command: "cl_showfps 0".

Keep in mind that you need to enable the developer console for this process to work, and if you haven't done that, we'll teach you how to do it in the next section.

How to enable the console in CS2

The console is not activated by default in the game, so here's what you need to do in order to use it:

  • Go to "Settings"
  • Select "Game Settings"
  • Look for the option that says "Enable Developer Console" and select "Yes"

Once you've done that, you can use the key mentioned in the previous section to open the console's text box and input whatever command you'd like.
