In Valorant, abilities make every agent unique, and knowing how to use them is extremely important to take the win home.
While Basic and Signature abilities can be easily purchased during the Buy Phase, Ultimate abilities can only be unlocked with Ultimate Points.
Here's a brief guide on how to unlock Ultimate abilities and why mastering them is so important for your Valorant experience.
How to get Ultimate Points in Valorant?
Getting Ultimate Points in Valorant is very easy. In Valorant, players get Ultimate Points by killing enemies, dying, spike interactions, or collecting Ultimate Orbs. Here's a closer look at the system:
- Killing: Every kill you get will get you one Ultimate Point.
- Dying: Every death will get you one Ultimate Point.
- Planting the spike: Planting the spike will get you one Ultimate Point.
- Defusing the spike: Defusing the spike will get you one Ultimate Point.
- Ultimate Orbs: Collecting an Ultimate Orb will get you one Ultimate Point.
For instance, someone who collects an Ultimate Orb and kills two opponents but ends up staying alive will get three Ultimate Points (one from each kill and one from the Ultimate Orb).
Meanwhile, someone who doesn't die during the round, doesn't kill, doesn't plant the spike, and doesn't get an Ultimate Orb, will end the round collecting zero Ultimate Points.
What are the best Ultimate abilities in Valorant?
With 24 agents in Valorant, it's difficult to say what are the best Ultimate abilities in the game. However, given the current meta, we have chosen what we think are the best five Ultimate abilities in Valorant.
Killjoy - Lockdown
Killjoy's Lockdown allows her to deploy a device that detains the enemies trapped in its range for a brief time. When this happens, enemies are vulnerable as they can't access their abilities and weapons.
Sage - Resurrection
Sage's Resurrection ability allows her to revive one of her fallen teammates. Therefore, when Sage has her Ultimate, that team is technically playing a 6v5 situation.
Gekko - Thrash
Gekko's Ultimate ability allows him to create some kind of monster called Thrash that he can manipulate for seven seconds. If he hits an enemy with it, the enemy will be detained for a short time.
