A lot of new exciting items have been added to LEGO Fortnite in the latest v30.40 update. Cool characters like Indiana Jones have been introduced to the roster, along with the much-anticipated Fast Travel feature. This allows players to move across the map quickly and efficiently, saving time and effort.
The update isn’t only limited to Skins and Features, but also new building pieces, offering players a chance to showcase their talent and hone their building skills. Pressure Plates are one of the items recently added to the game.
LEGO Fortnite’s unique building mechanics allow players to construct elaborate structures. Understanding Pressure Plates may be challenging for newcomers, but once mastered, they offer great potential.
What are Pressure Plates?
Pressure Plates are interactive building pieces that activate or deactivate connected devices when pressure is applied. These pieces are essential for crafting dynamic and interactive builds. You can use Pressure Plates to control the movement of platforms, open doors, trigger traps, and much more.
These plates can provide players with endless possibilities, all limited only by their imagination and building skills.
How to Get Pressure Plates?
In order to get a Pressure Plate, you’ll need to start from scratch. This means collecting resources and crafting them by unlocking their recipes. Here is everything you need to know about obtaining Pressure Plates in LEGO Fortnite:
Collecting Resources
To craft a Pressure Plate, you’ll need two specific materials: Wood and Blast Powder. The first resource, Wood, can be obtained by chopping down trees found abundantly throughout the map of LEGO Fortnite. You’ll need just one piece of this common resource.
The final item is Blast Powder, a slightly harder resource to find. If you’re lucky, Blast Powder can be found in treasure chests across the map. If this doesn’t work out, check the loot dropped by Outlaw and Crossbones Skeletons (Primarily in the Dry Valley Biome). You’ll need 1x Blast Powder to craft a Pressure Plate.
Crafting Pressure Plates
Once you’ve gathered the necessary materials, craft the Pressure Plate by accessing the Build Menu. The recipe for the Pressure Plates unlocks almost immediately once you acquire Blast Powder.
Using a Pressure Plate
Unlike the normal Activation Switches, Pressure Plates are activated when a certain force is applied to them. These plates act as means of channel control. These plates deactivate when no force is being placed on these sensitive components.
Here is a list of things you can craft using a Pressure Plate:
- Elevators: Makeshift elevators can save a lot of time.
- Transport System: Craft efficient Transport Systems using Pressure Plates and Activated Ballons.
- Trap for Enemies: Strategically place them in areas surrounding enemy territories.
- Door Switches: Create a floor-activated Door using a Pressure Plate. Have one friend step on the plate while the other passes through the door.
