G2 Esports has qualified for the BLAST R6 Major Montreal after victories against Into The Breach and ENCE.

Following the team’s 2-1 win against the British-majority roster, the samurai clashed with the French squad in Europe’s Last Chance Qualifier’s grand final. After back-to-back 7-3 victories on Skyscraper and Border, the Six Invitational 2023 champions clinched Europe’s fourth seed to play at the BLAST R6 Major Montreal.

Curiously enough, in May 2024, G2 Esports qualified for the BLAST R6 Major Manchester in a similar way as they beat ENCE in the grand finals too. However, despite winning Europe’s LCQ, the team was knocked out of Manchester in the play-in stage after defeats against Team Liquid and FearX.

Following today’s victory, G2 Esports has joined Team Falcons, Chiefs, FearX, and CAG Osaka in the play-in stage of the BLAST R6 Major Montreal. In Canada, G2 Esports’ Roberto “Loira” Camargo will make his international debut only a few months after joining the European powerhouse from Black Dragons.

It’s also important to mention that, with this result, G2 Esports has temporarily sneaked into the Global Standings’ Top 16. However, with 250 SI Points, the samurai will need more than just qualifying for Montreal to clinch a Six Invitational 2025 spot through the Global Standings.
