EDward Gaming have been crowned as VCT 2024 China Stage 2 champions after the team's 3-2 victory against FunPlus Phoenix. With this result, the VCT Masters Shangai quarter-finalists secured their region's first seed heading to the Valorant Champions Seoul.
Since the start of the second split, EDward Gaming's roster was seen as the favorite to win Stage 2. However, the team's consecutive defeats against Wolves Esports and Dragon Ranger Gaming saw FunPlus Phoenix temporarily overtaking their archenemies in the standings. In the playoffs, FunPlus Phoenix's defeat against Trace Esport and EDward Gaming's unbeaten run to the VCT 2024 China Stage 2 grand finals meant that FunPlus Phoenix had to produce a miraculous lower bracket run to have a chance at clinching the region's first-seed heading to Seoul. Following a 2-1 victory against BiliBili Gaming and a heated 3-2 win against Trace Esport, FunPlus Phoenix reached the grand finals.
Despite FunPlus Phoenix's best efforts, EDward Gaming ended up clinching the region's first seed after a 3-2 victory over the Chinese roster, in a series where none of the teams was able to create a two-map difference. With this result, EDward Gaming has been crowned as China's best Valorant team this season, followed by FunPlus Phoenix, Trace Esports, and Bilibili Gaming.
