XDefiant is the new free-to-play competitive shooter from Ubisoft and you might be wondering if it has crossplay. This is an essential feature for multiplayer-focused games, as it allows players from any platform to form lobbies and play together.

Does XDefiant have crossplay?
We are pleased to say that XDefiant does have crossplay available from launch. In other words, you can invite and play with any other user, no matter the platform.

The game is available on current-gen consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S) and PC through the Ubisoft Connect store. However, you must have a Ubisoft Connect account linked to your game to access this feature.
You can create it from Ubisoft's official page and after linking it to your game, you must add your friends through it since that's what the game uses to invite people regarding the platform they're on.
How to disable crossplay in XDefiant?
If the process remains the same for the game's full version, here are the steps to disable the crossplay feature on PlayStation 5 and PC:
- Once you're in the game's main menu, go to Settings.
- Select Account & Network
- There you will find a crossplay option. Select "No"
The process is a little bit different for Xbox users, as you will have to disable crossplay functionalities from your console's settings. Here is what you need to do:
- From your console's main menu, go to Settings.
- Go to General, and then select Online safety & family.
- Select Privacy & online safety.
- Select Xbox privacy.
- Select the Custom option and then select View details & customize.
- Scroll down and select Communication & multiplayer.
- Go to the option that says "You can join cross-network play" and select Block.
Once you've done that, the game's crossplay feature will be disable but keep in mind that this applies to all games in your console. So if you want to enjoy the advantages of crossplay on another title, you must change that option back to "Allow" before.
