Farming materials in Destiny 2 can be time-consuming, so knowing exactly how to get Enhancement Prisms will save you a lot of time.
Enhancement Prisms, like Enhancement Cores and Ascendant Shards, are highly sought-after materials in Destiny 2 due to their importance when it comes to leveling gear.
Prisms, unlike other materials, are specifically used to enhance armor, making this currency extremely valuable as getting a good set of gear with great stats is necessary to tackle endgame content such as raids and dungeons.
Best Destiny 2 Enhancement Prism farm
Rahool always has the goods
Master Rahool
Master Rahool sells Enhancement Prisms at a relatively low cost, so if you're in desperate need of some, visiting the cryptarch at the Tower is your best and fastest method. The price for an Enhancement Prism with Rahool is:
- 10 Enhancement Cores
- 10k Glimmer
There is no limit to the number of Prisms you can purchase from him at the specified price. Additionally, every week Rahool will offer three Enhancement Prisms at a discounted rate.
- 10 Enhancement Cores
- 2.5k Glimmer
Not only that but since Rahool now has rank rewards, he will give you an Enhancement Prism upon reaching rank 7 and two when you reach rank 13.
Vendor ranks have plenty of Prisms
Leveling vendor ranks
On top of Master Rahool, vendors offer Enhancement Prisms at different ranks:
- Commander Zavala (The Tower): Two at rank 10
- Lord Shaxx (The Tower): Two at rank 10
- Banshe-44 (The Tower): One at rank 7, two at rank 13
- The Drifter (The Tower): Two at rank 10
- Saint-14 (The Tower): Three at rank 7
- Xur (Dares of Eternity): Two at rank 13
- Ghost (Pale Heart): Two at rank 13
In total, you can get 19 Enhancement Prisms from vendors.
Nightfalls
Master and GM Nightfalls are reliable sources for Enhancement Prisms, but they are random drops and are not guaranteed after completion.
For both Master and GM Nightfalls, the drop rate is "Common." Accessing endgame content requires a minimum Power Level, however. For Episode: Echoes, the PL requirements are:
- Master Nightfalls: 2010PL
- GM Nightfalls: 2020PL
As a recommendation, use the Prism Harvest Ghost mod to enhance (no pun intended) your chances of getting Prisms while doing ritual activities.
The season pass is always a good source for Prisms
Season Pass
As always, the season pass provides a generous amount of Enhancement Prisms. Currently, you can obtain 18 Enhancement Prisms from the premium track at the following tiers:
- Three at rank 88
- Three at rank 98
- Three at rank 138
- Three at rank 148
- Three at rank 188
- Three at rank 191
Dismantling rank 9 armor
If you have upgraded armor you no longer intend to use, you can dismantle it to recover some Enhancement Prisms. You won't get all of them back but if you're dry on them, it's an efficient way to repurpose them for better gear.
Empire Hunts are still relevant
Empire Hunts
The activity that was introduced with Beyond Light in 2020 remains relevant today for two main reasons: it is the sole method for obtaining the Exotic sniper Cloudstrike, and it has the potential to drop Enhancement Prisms.
Naturally, you need to own the Beyond Light expansion to access Empire Hunts. There are three difficulties with different drop rates:
- Advanced (1995PL): Rare
- Expert (2005PL): Common
- Master (2010PL): Common
How to use Enhancement Prisms in Destiny 2
Enhancement Prisms can help you improve your armor, allowing you to masterwork it which will boost its stats slightly.
Since this is a rare item, it is advisable to spend it on gear with good base stats, in other words, gear that you actually want to keep and use long-term.
On top of that, Rahool offers Exotic gear Focused Decoding, costing the following:
- 1 Exotic engram
- 30k Glimmer
- 10 Enhancement Prisms
Unlike the Ascendant Shard decoding, utilizing Enhancement Prisms won't let you target a specific piece of armor, with the gear dropping at random. Furthermore, the decoding is segmented by expansion, with Red War (the only one that has separate drops), Forsaken, Shadowkeep, Beyond Light Witch Queen, and Lightfall available.
One final note, you must unlock all pieces of gear per expansion if you want to decode more.
How many Enhancement Prisms can you have in your inventory?
Players can carry up to 100 Enhancement Prisms in their inventory. If you reach this limit you won't get any more Prisms until you go below the cap.
Previously, players were only able to hold 50 Prisms at a time, while the Postmaster could carry an extra 50. However, the Postmaster no longer accepts Enhancement Prisms, meaning that 100 is now the hard cap.
