Here's all you need to know about 2024's Destiny 2 Solstice event.

Destiny 2 Solstice 2024 sees the return of this popular yearly event, refreshed with new armor, weapons, and more to hunt down. Though Bungie hasn't revealed all the details quite yet, it has teased some of the new content on the way.

While you wait for the Solstice celebrations to begin, you should beat Dual Destiny to get your hands on Exotic class items. These powerful gear pieces will no doubt come in handy when farming the Solstice activities.

Destiny 2 Solstice 2024 Start Date

The Destiny 2 Solstice 2024 event is expected to start at the end of July, likely on Tuesday, July 23 or 30, during Echoes: Act 2, and is expected to last three weeks.

During the Echoes: Act 2 livestream, Bungie revealed that the Solstice event would be returning at some point during Act 2, which runs until Tuesday, August 27. This gives you time to dig into the Act 2 storyline and new activities for a short time before Solstice sidetracks Guardians from the unfolding events on Nessus.

In fact, Solstice will likely be used to plug the content gap during Echoes Act 2. With three weeks of story missions, the final Act 2 drop will take place on July 30, so having Solstice arrive alongside it will tide us all over until Act 3.

Nevertheless, this lines up with previous year’s Solstice events, which began on the third Tuesday of July.

As for what we can expect from Solstice 2024, it's most likely going to be very similar to previous years, as events rarely see significant overhauls. That is to say, we will likely be returning to the European Aerial Zone to grind the Bonfire Bash activity once more. In the past, this would convert Silver Leaves - earned by completing activities while wearing Solstice armor - into Silver Ash to then reroll armor stats. Likewise, you could also get Kindling from completing specific challenges, which would then be used to upgrade the Solstice armor to the next tier.

Destiny 2 Solstice 2024 Armor

During the Solstice 2024 event, you can earn a unique, limited-time armor set for each class. Here’s what each of the Solstice armor looks like this year:

If the Solstice 2024 event follows the structure of past iterations, you will unlock each individual armor piece over the course of guided quests involving Eva Levante and the Bonfire Bash activity. Likewise, it's expected that you will be able to upgrade the armor through different tiers to eventually unlock the staple glow effect.

Destiny 2 Solstice 2024 Weapons

Bungie has yet to reveal the Solstice 2024 weapons that will debut. However, leaks have revealed the following weapons:

  • Unnamed - Void bow
  • Compass Rose - Solar shotgun
  • Something New - Stasis hand cannon
  • Crowning Duologue - Strand rocket launcher

Whether these will be worth the grind, we’ll have to wait and see. Episode Echoes and The Final Shape has already brought us some very powerful and popular weapons, so we’re spoilt for choice as is. In fact, Echoes Act 2 brings Abhorrent Action, a must-have Solar rocket sidearm, and Corrassion, a strong Arc pulse rifle.

That’s all there is to know about the Destiny 2 Solstice 2024 event right now. Once Bungie reveals more, we will update this guide with the latest news. In the meantime, finish collecting all of The Final Shape Exotics, especially as Still Hunt will be better than ever.
