The content post-The Final Shape expansion in Destiny 2 will continue with Episode: Revenant, the follow-up to the divisive Episode: Echoes.

While the episodic model just debuted with The Final Shape, Bungie has confirmed it won't return next year after Codename: Frontiers kicks off. Until that happens, though, players still have at least two more episodes to enjoy.

So, if you're anticipating Episode: Revenant, this is everything there is to know about it. While you're here, don't forget to check out our weekly Nightfall guide to see which weapons are worth grinding.

Destiny 2 Episode: Revenant start date

Destiny 2 Episode: Revenant will kick off at the standard weekly reset time on Tuesday, October 8.

Similarly to Episode: Echoes, Revenant will have a three-act structure, however, Bungie has confirmed that players will be able to play the entirety of the seasonal quest right from the start.

During Episode: Echoes, the developers were criticized for time-gating seasonal content and the ability to obtain weapons via focused decoding, so Revenant will serve as a way to experiment with a different content delivery format.

Destiny 2 Episode: Revenant weapons and activities

Sadly, despite being just a few weeks away, Bungie has kept details of what players can expect from Episode: Revenant under wraps. We can assume a brand-new armor set will be obtainable as well as exclusive weapons.

Expect reprised weapons to come back with an updated perk pool, as Episode: Echoes brought back a few outdated guns with a fresh coat of paint to make the weapon pool more varied.

As for activities, the core activity will likely involve the Fallen, with the gameplay loop still kept under wraps. As for seasonal events, Episode: Revenant will host both Festival of the Lost, the annual Halloween-themed event, and The Dawning, the end-of-the-year celebration. The exact dates for both have not been revealed.

Episode: Revenant dungeon

Three days after Revenant drops, on October 11, Bungie will release a brand-new dungeon that will likely expand upon the story treads post-The Final Shape and will hopefully lead into Codename: Frontiers.

Not much is known about the dungeon itself at the time of writing.

Sadly, not much is known about Episode: Revenant as you can see. As we get closer to the start, we'll update this hub to keep you in the loop.
