Destiny 2 devs tease major PvP announcements

Are they fixing it?

Destiny 2 is experiencing a ton of changes despite next season being delayed until June alongside The Final Shape expansion, with the PvP team hinting at plenty more that Guardians can expect to see with patch 7.3.5 and beyond.

Via social media, the Destiny 2 dev team teased fans, explaining that last week's This Week in Destiny blog, which was a beefy one, was going to be dwarfed in size by the upcoming one on February 22.

TWID blogs, as they're called for short, are weekly updates published by Bungie in which they give insights into future updates, the current state of the game, announce upcoming events, and more.

For February 22, fans can expect almost 7,000 words with a big chunk of those coming directly from the PvP team as they lay out planned changes that will start rolling out with update 7.3.5. These include changes to reward updates, rule changes, matchmaking and more.

Despite having a ton of modes for competitive players, whether is a relaxed PvP experience in Mayhem, a sweaty 3v3 high-stakes mode like Trials of Osiris, or a mixture of both PvP and PvE in Gambit, Bungie has had trouble trying to balance the experience, with the majority of the player base feeling dissatisfied with the current feel of things.

Destiny 2 patch 7.3.5 is expected to hit on March 5 during the usual weekly reset time on Tuesday. On top of the teased PvP changes that we'll get to see in the upcoming This Week in Destiny 2 blog, Bungie previously revealed that they will also include a surplus of sandbox changes to spice up PvE as well.

Hopefully, these changes steer Destiny 2 in the right direction, as Sony's president has put pressure on Bungie to deliver the goods in 2024 with The Final Shape being, possibly, their last chance at remaining autonomous from the rest of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
