Amid suspense surrounding the future of Destiny 2 following layoffs and internal restructuring, leaks have surfaced showcasing some of the content Bungie has in store for the upcoming 10th-anniversary celebration of the franchise.
According to The Game Post, several datamined images state that the 10th Anniversary DLC will bring armor sets to commemorate the history of Destiny and "secrets to discover."
The leaks mention that players will be able to search The Pale Heart for secret chests to unlock new armor pieces as they strive to attain a new title called Legend.
The armor sets for Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters are a tribute to the gear worn by Guardians in the early days of Destiny 1. Similarly, the title is a callback to the franchise's original tagline: "Become Legend."
Not much more information was leaked but hopefully, this is an indication of some of the content that will become available as part of Destiny's 10th Anniversary DLC and not the entire extent of it.
The 10th Anniversary DLC seems to be a scaled-back celebration
Bungie celebrated its 30th anniversary as a company with a big DLC drop in December 2021. That event included a free-to-play activity called Dares of Eternity and a small new social hub where players could interact with Xur who offered vendor challenges and rewards. On top of that, paid elements included a new dungeon, Grasp of Avarice, and an exotic quest for players to obtain the returning Gjallarhorn.
Destiny 1 was released on September 9, 2014, meaning there's still time for Bungie to unveil the 10th Anniversary DLC officially and fully showcase what players can expect from it.
If it does end up being a smaller update that involves players scouring The Pale Heart for secret chests it won't do much to shake up community sentiment which is at an all-time low after news surfaced that The Final Shape sold less than the previous DLC, Lightfall, and the lack of meaningful updates during Episode: Echoes.
