Cyber, Spoit, Interro, JessGOAT, CherryGumms, and Pengu earn Esports Awards 2022 nominations

Several Rainbow Six: Siege personalities have been nominated for the 2022 Esports Awards. SiegeGG has also been nominated for Esports Coverage Platform of the Year for the second year in a row.

Last year's annual awards ceremony saw G2 Esports' Jake "Virtue" Grannan win Play of the Year. Meanwhile, in 2020, Michael "KiXSTAr" Stockley was crowned the Color Caster of the Year and G2 Esports took home the award for Esports Organization of the Year.

This year, the ceremony is due to take place in December in Las Vegas. You can vote for your picks here.

The following Rainbow Six Siege personalities have been nominated for an award:

• Esports PC Player of the Year -- Cyber
• Esports PC Rookie of the Year -- Spoit
• Esports Play by Play Caster of the Year -- INTERRO
• Esports Colour Caster of the Year -- Pengu
• Esports Desk Analyst of the Year -- JessGOAT
• Esports Personality of the Year -- Cherrygumms

Last year Ghassan "Milosh" Finge, Arthur "TchubZ" Figueira, Luccas "Paluh" Molina, and Maciej "MacieJay" Dzikowski were nominated for host, coach, player, and content creator of the year, respectively, while Parker "Interro" Mackay was also nominated for the Personality of the Year as well as Play-by-Play Caster of the Year. 

This year instead, Jaime "Cyber" Ramos got his first nomination for player of the year as he helped FaZe Clan win the Sweden Major and reach the Berlin Major grand-final. Meanwhile, William "Spoit" Löfstedt has stood out as a rookie for his Berlin Major win, where he became R6’s youngest ever Major winner.

Nicolle "Cherrygumms" Merhy, the CEO and owner of Black Dragons, also got her first nomination as a notable member of the wider Brazilian esports community.

Several R6-related companies also were nominated:

• Esports Game of the Year -- Rainbow Six Siege
• Esports Publisher of the Year -- Ubisoft
• Esports Broadcast / Production Team of the Year -- ESL and FACEIT
• Esports Coverage Platform of the Year -- SiegeGG

Ubisoft and Rainbow Six have been nominated yet again, while SiegeGG is honoured to have been nominated for the second year running. 

ESL and FACEIT -- the tournament organizers that run almost all of Rainbow Six’s global circuit -- also earned individual nominations despite being set to merge into one company following their acquisition by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.

Finally, FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, G2 Esports, FURIA Esports, and TSM FTX were all nominated for various other organization awards for their performance and content: 

• Esports Organisation of the Year -- FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, G2 Esports, and FURIA
• Content Group of the Year -- FaZe Clan
• Esports Apparel of the Year -- TSM FTX, FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, G2 Esports, and Fnatic
• Esports Content Series of the Year -- G2 Voicecomms
• Esports Creative Team of the Year -- Team Liquid and G2 Esports

Finally, Pavel "Amision" Chebatkov has been nominated for the Esports Play of the Month for September for his 1v5 clutch. The winners of each month are then nominated for the Play of the Year, the award Virtue won last year.

While it was in a low stakes match that TT9 went on to lose, it’s still one of the most impressive plays in Rainbow Six history, making it a strong contender to win an award.
