Classic Call of Duty enjoyers might rejoice after hearing that the original Modern Warfare 2 from 2009 could be on its way to the Xbox Game Pass catalog.

Since the Activision-Blizzard acquisition was completed, many players expected to see an influx of Call of Duty titles drop into the popular Xbox subscription service. However, the additions have been pretty scarce as of now.

Only two games from the shooter franchise are available at the moment and these are the most recent ones: Modern Warfare 3 from 2023 and the current main title, Black Ops 6.

However, according to a report from XboxEra, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) is set to be added to the catalog in either April or May. The site doesn't specify if only the classic release from 2009 will be added or if we will also see the remastered campaign launched in 2020 included.

The same report points out that leaker eXtas1stv mentioned back in December of last year that we could see Call of Duty: World at War be added to the catalog in May, meaning players could get more than one classic COD game soon.

Once the news is confirmed, we will be posting all about it. In the meantime, you can check out our guides of The Tomb, the latest Zombies map available in Black Ops 6.
