Black Ops 6: How to get the Ice Staff in The Tomb

Looks exactly as it did in Origins

The Ice Staff from Origins is back in the Tomb, the fourth Black Ops 6 Zombies map. The staff is not only a good weapon to survive rounds, but you'll also need it to do the map's main easter egg.

If you are wondering how to get this iconic wonder weapon from the Zombies franchise, we have prepared a guide where we explain everything you need to know.

How to get the Ice Staff in The Tomb

There are two ways to get the Ice Staff in The Tomb: through the mystery box or by obtaining its parts and building it.

The first method comes down to luck but if you have a spare Wonderbar GobbleGum that you want to spend, it will increase your chances. This ultra-rarity GobbleGum guarantees you get a wonder weapon the next time you use the mystery box.

However, in this map, you can either get the Ray-Gun or the Ice Staff, so it's a 50% chance. If you prefer to build the staff, the first thing you need to do is to open the portal to the Dark Aether in the Subterranean Temple area.

We go more in-depth about this in our How to find the Pack-a-Punch guide. However, the process is simple as you just have to open doors until you reach the last area of the map. Once the portal is activated, it's time to get the three parts you need to assemble the staff.

You can obtain the first one at round 8, since a special Mimic spawns into the map at the start of it. Just defeat the Shock Mimic and it will drop the Monocle golden item. Pick that up and now you can move on to get the other two.

Keep in mind that this is the first piece you must get since you won't be able to do the following steps without the monocle.

For this second part, you need to head to the Tombs area, the room you enter after opening the door to the left of the dig site from the spawn area and where the Death Perception perk machine is. The room has several lamps hanging in high spots and one of them will have a purple flame.

For our game, the flame was on the lamp that's in the middle of the room, on top of the door's frame that leads to the next one.

When you shoot this flame, the fire will drop down to the floor, creating a dark aether trap that kills any zombies that walk through it. After a few seconds, the purple flame will reappear in one of the other lamps. Your objective is to keep shooting the flame until it spawns on the lamp in front of the mural with a bull drawing, symbolizing the Taurus constellation.

Once the flame is there, and if you've acquired the monocle, you will see several symbols on the bull glowing in gold. Each symbol represents a Roman number from 1 to 8 and you just need to shoot each one in ascendant order.

We recommend you use a bullet weapon since the explosion of special weapons like the Ray Gun could reach the wrong symbol and ruin this step.

Each symbol is like an italic version of the Roman numbers but in case you get confused, here is the corresponding number for each one:

If you fail several times or take too long to do this step, the purple flame will disappear and reappear at another spot in the room. If that happens, just repeat the same process of shooting the flame until it reappears on the spot needed.

After shooting them in order, you have to survive three mini rounds of zombies inside this room. Dark aether flame traps will appear on the ground so you need to avoid them and use them to your advantage. We recommend having a decent gun and at least Juggernog for this step.

Once you survive, the Staff part and a max ammo power-up will spawn in front of the mural.

Pick that up and now it's time to get the third and last part. You will have to repeat this same process on the other side of the map, inside the Neolithic Catacombs area where the Deadshot Daiquiri perk is. You can access it using the door to the right side of the dig site from the spawn area.

This area will have all the lamps attached to the roof, so look for the one with the purple flame and shoot it to make it move to another one.

The purple flame has to be in the lamp shown in the picture below, as that is in front of the Orion constellation mural. The crafting table is in this same room and you can check the minimap on the screenshot in case you can't identify it.

Once the flame is in position, go to the mural and shoot the Roman numbers in order. This mural has ten numbers and here is the correct order in case you need it:

After that, you will again have to survive a few rounds of special zombies, but now inside this area. Then you will receive a Max Ammo power-up and the head of the staff as a reward.

Once you have all three parts, you need to go into the Dark Aether and walk towards the structure on top of the hill, in the middle of this area. Interacting with the circle in the center will place all three staff parts and once they are aligned, a new ritual will begin.

A large amount of zombies will spawn and some of them, highlighted by purple flames, will try to destroy the staff. You have to protect it for a minute and after that, the staff will be yours.

We recommend you prepare accordingly since this last step is quite difficult, as you have to take care of your life from the normal zombies and protect the staff from the purple ones. You could craft a Sentry Turret on the crafting table, which requires 1500 Salvage points, and place it near the staff to help protect it.

After a minute, all the zombies will disappear and you will be able to pick up the assembled staff.
