The BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen Phase 2 is starting today. What are the matches to watch?

DPlus KIA vs Soniqs

DPlus KIA's last international Rainbow Six Siege appearance was in Aug. 2022, when the South Korean lineup played at the Six Berlin Major. Back then, the roster finished at the bottom of their group after only one victory -- against Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Since then, the South Korean made multiple changes. First, the organization went through a rebranding, as they moved from their pregious name, DWG KIA, to DPlus KIA. Later on, the team announced the signing of Lee "Harp3rXD" Hyo-jun and the loan of Lee "Soldier" Si-hyeon.

Now, eight months after the Six Berlin Major, the organization is back to the international scene. The team's first match in Copenhagen, Denmark, will be against the North America League LCQ winners, Soniqs.

Coming from the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen Phase 1, Soniqs topped the Group C standings following their wins against LAVEGA Esports and REVEN ECLUB.

It will not be the first time both teams meet. At the Six Invitational 2022, Soniqs sent DWG KIA to the losers bracket following two 7-5 victories in the upper bracket quarter-finals.

DarkZero Esports vs Team Falcons

Following the roster's wins over MNM Gaming and SANDBOX Gaming, Team Falcons will be in the spotlight for the rest of the tournament.

After topping the standings of Group A, the Saudi Arabian majority roster secured a spot at the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen Phase 2. Their first opponent will be DarkZero Esports, who were crowned Six Major champions on May 2022 -- eleven months ago.

While it will be DarkZero Esports' first Six Major match since their 3-2 victory over Astralis at the Six Charlotte Major grand finals, the Americans finished outside the Six Invitational 2023 Top 8 following defeats against KOI and G2 Esports.

Heading to Copenhagen, Denmark, after finishing in second place of the North America League 2023 Stage 1, the purple squad are the favorites against Team Falcons.

G2 Esports vs Spacestation Gaming

Two Six Invitational winners will facing off today as the current world champions, G2 Esports, will play against Spacestation Gaming.

Throughout the Europe League 2023 Stage 1, G2 Esports looked like the strongest team in the tournament. Eventually, three of the best four players of the stage were part of G2 Esports, with Benjamin "Benjamaster" Dereli, Karl "Alem4o" Zart, and Jack "Doki" Robertson finishing with SiegeGG ratings of 1.18, 1,17, and 1,16.

However, despite the team's results during Stage 1, Virtus.pro defeated the samurais with a 2-1 victory at the Europe League 2023 Stage 1 grand finals.

Meanwhile, Spacestation Gaming finished in third place of the North America League 2023 Stage 1 after defeating beastcoast. The astronauts finished in second place of the regular phase as DarkZero Esports finished in first.

After topping the standings of Group B following the team's victories against Elevate and Six Karma, Spacestation Gaming moved to Phase 2.

Ninjas in Pyjamas vs Virtus.pro

Ninjas in Pyjamas is making its international return as the Brazilians' last appearance outside their region was at the Six Berlin Major.

Despite their initial upset against Six Karma, where they lost by 3-7, the Brazilians redeemed themselves in the lower bracket of Group B.

Under Arthur "TchubZ" Figueira, the ninjas look the best they have been in a year. Raul "kondz" Romão has adapted to the team and has left so far a good impression in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Today, the Six Invitational 2021 winners will play against Virtus.pro, who finished in first place of the Europe League 2023 Stage 1.
