Respawn Entertainment and EA have revealed the Winter’s Haunt event for Apex Legends. As most players expected, it is this year’s winter event and will be around until after the new year. Fans of the game have another reason to open it up and play as their favorite Legends in this new December event.

Winter events for online shooters are always fun since they offer plenty of cosmetics for players to win. Plus, it’s December, so some gamers are going to have free time to play Apex Legends, which is always a good thing. So, without further ado, here’s everything we know about this Winter event.

Release date

The Apex Legends Winter’s Haunt event will launch on December 17 at 10:00 am PT (6:00 pm GMT). Whether grinding for currency or practicing with their favorite characters, players can now prepare for this December event. Considering how much players enjoy the shooter when it isn’t the holidays, this new event should hit the spot.

Oddly enough, we don’t know how long the event will last. The game’s trailer reveals the start date but won’t say when it ends. Even the official website doesn’t discuss how long the event will be, though we imagine the end date will be revealed when Winter’s Haunt starts.

Winter Express

To those unfamiliar with the event, Winter’s Haunt has three squads attempting to capture a train and defeat all enemies. Unlike previous years, this version of Winter’s Haunt will have all Legends playable. All weapons can also be used, so players who have a favorite gun can get them ready.

Skins and cosmetics

Naturally, there are going to be new cosmetics as part of the Apex Legends Winter’s Haunt event. Gamers will always want new costumes and skins with new events, so it’s good to see Respawn was ready with six new cosmetics.

Players who love the grind can take part in the event and earn ice gems, a currency that can be used in this event to unlock rewards. Those who want to get the cosmetics right away will be able to do so through the Event Store.

Here are the six new skins coming to the game along with the list of legends they belong to:

Apart from legend skins, the event will introduce a new reactive skin for the Hemlock called Attunement, which changes after each elimination.

The Winter’s Bane heirloom for Bloodhound will be the biggest reward for this collection event. If you want to unlock it, you will have to get all 30 items from the event before it's over. After that, the only way to get it will be through the Heirloom shop.

Event items

In addition to the cosmetics above, Apex Legends: Winter’s Haunt also has limited items that can only be gained through the event. Bloodhound has a new “Winter’s Bane” heirloom that can only be gained through this event. Players can also earn 150 Heirloom Shards. All of these items will be available through Winter’s Haun Apex Packs, which won’t have duplicates.
