DreamHack Valencia will be the second DreamHack event in Year 3, taking place from the 12th to 14th of July in central Valencia. Here, 16 teams will compete for their share of the $50,000 prize pool as well as for a qualification spot at the upcoming Paris Major.

For the event, 12 Pro League teams will be invited on a first-come-first-served basis. They will then meet up with the 4 winners of the BYOC open tournament, which will take place the day prior to the main tournament. These 16 teams will then make up the main event for the tournament commencing on Friday the 13th of July. Details about each of the 3 stages of the tournament can be seen below:

BYOC Open Qualifier

First, there is a “Bring Your Own Computer” LAN event which offers the 4 top teams a chance to play their way to a spot in the main event. This will take place in the main LAN hall, and will see a double elimination Bo1 style format with all decider matches being Bo3 maps. This takes place on Thursday, July 12th from 1pm onwards and requires all players to have a “BYOC Ticket” as well as all necessary equipment to play.

Main Tournament Group Stage

Following the BYOC’s completion on the 12th, the invited teams will join the action with all 16 teams being split into 4 groups of 4. The rest of Thursday and the whole of the Friday will see a GSL format bracket (as seen in the regular season of Pro League in previous seasons) with Bo3 games.

Main Tournament Playoffs

Beginning on the Saturday, the top 2 teams in each group will advance to a Single Elimination Bo3 knockout tournament. Here’s where all the prize money can be won, with each team that qualified this far taking home a minimum of $1,000, and with the eventual victor winning $25,000 and a spot at the Paris major in August.

While registration pages for the BYOC tournament are not yet live, viewers can get a day pass for €12, a full 3 day pass for €25, or a VIP pass for €50 which offers owners VIP seating, a welcome pack, an exclusive t-shirt and “much more”. The full selection of ticket options can be found here and you can find out more about the event here.
