As announced by Ubisoft earlier today, the EU Finals will take place over the two weekends of December 11-12th and 18-19th. This event also sees the EUCL grand-final and the EUL relegation match to decide which teams will join the EU League for the 2022 Season.
EU League Finals
The top four teams across 2021’s three EUL Stages will be competing in a single-elimination bracket for the massive €100,000 prize pool. These teams are as follows:
- BDS Esports - Shaiiko, Renshiro, RaFaLe, Elemzje, and BriD
- Team Empire - ShepparD, JoyStiCK, Scyther, Dan, and Always
- Natus Vincere - Saves, Doki, Blurr, Secretly, and Nathan
- G2 Esports - Jonka, Hungry, CTZN, Virtue, and Kayak
While the semi-finals will take place on December 11th, the grand-final and third-place playoff will be on December 19th. All matches will best-of-three map games except for the grand-final which is a best-of-five.
This tournament was initially planned to be a LAN event, however, it is unclear if this is still the case. More details will be announced next week.
While G2 was crowned the champions of the 2020 Season, the team has changed three out of the five members since then. Instead, the two favourites will be BDS and Team Empire after they both had strong LAN showings this year.
