ICYMI - DreamHack Austin 12 Invited Teams Revealed

In case you missed it -- The teams invited to play at the $50k DreamHack Austin Tournament on June 2nd have been announced.

All Pro League teams were given a chance to apply for an invite on a first-come-first-serve basis, and now, 3 weeks before the tournament, the lucky teams have been announced.

These include the two top NA teams and likely favourites in Evil Geniuses and Rogue, both of whom we will also see compete in the S7 finals in Atlantic City this weekend. Also from NA are the Pro League teams of Obey Alliance, Mousesports, and Spacestation Gaming -- for whom which this would be their first LAN on home turf.

Also invited was the Challenger League squad of Team SiNister who came 3rd in NA CL S7 after losing to Beastcoast in the semi-finals. The final two NA teams include the recently relegated Pro League team of Motiv8 -- for whom this would be the first competition under their new org -- and the team that relegated them in Noble eSports; the newest entrant to NA Pro League for Season 8.

Outside of NA there were only 4 teams that got a place, mainly due to the cost of the organisations flying the teams out to Austin. These teams, all of which are European, include the 3 French teams of Millenium, Vitality and Mock-It, and the recently formed Swedish roster of Digital Chaos. All of them came between 2nd and 5th in the most recent EU Pro League season and will be hoping to push the home teams to their limit.

These 12 teams will now meet up with the 4 winners of the BYOC Open tournament, which will be taking place the day previously. This open tournament includes teams such as Beastcoast, T3H eSports and Polar Ace with the 16 of them being split into 4 groups of 4 for the actual DreamHack event beginning June 2nd.
