Astralis enters 'Rainbow Six Siege' with Disrupt Gaming acquistion

The massive Danish organisation has entered 'Rainbow Six' ahead of Stage 3 of the 2021 season.

Legendary Danish organization Astralis has entered "Rainbow Six Siege" with a full acquisition of the Disrupt Gaming organization.
Astralis will take over Disrupt Gaming's assets, key staff, and facilities for the Rainbow Six team, and the team will now play in the NAL under the Astralis banner from Stage 3 onwards.
All social media accounts held by Disrupt Gaming have also been renamed to reflect the change.
The newly-formed Astralis US Inc. will be based in Las Vegas, with Disrupt Gaming CEO Mark "cashflo" Flood now becoming its Director of US Operations.

"Expanding our team activities and organization into North America and entering Ubisoft's Rainbow Six NA League is big news for us," said Astralis founder Jakob Lund Kristensen in the organization's official press release. "We intend to bring something new and exciting to all the fans of Rainbow Six while also giving the vast number of existing Astralis fans all over the world a new team in a game and a league that provides entertainment and competition on a very high level."

Astralis is best known for its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) team, and holds the record for the highest number of Major tournament wins at four in the esport. Its CS:GO team was also the third-ever to win back-to-back Majors, the only one to win three consecutive Majors, and the only team to have won a Major without losing a map in the playoffs stage.

The Danish organization also fields teams in League of Legends and FIFA.

The NAL returns on Sep. 7, with the Astralis 'Rainbow Six' team unquestionably eager to carry on the organisation's winning pedigree with an opening game against Soniqs.
