DarkZero Acquires Ecl9pse, BC Returns to Coaching

After a stint as a player for DarkZero Esports, Brandon "BC" Carr has left this role to move back to his originally preferred coaching position following the addition of Tyler "Ecl9pse" McMullin to the playing roster. This move follows the swap of DarkZero’s Zachary "Nyx" Thomas for Reciprocity’s Alexander "Skys" Magor, and has resulted in the North American champions having a very different roster for Season 10.

BC began his Pro League career back in Year 1 with limited success before joining Ominous (now known as DarkZero) in Season 4 and then Continuum (now known as Evil Geniuses) in Season 5 and qualifying for his first-ever LAN event with the team in Season 6. While EG was defeated by ENCE eSports here, they went on to finish as runners-up in three major events in the following six months -- the 2018 Six Invitational, DreamHack Austin, and the Paris Major -- and lost to the eventual champions of PENTA in the Season 7 quarter-finals before losing at DreamHack Montreal 2018 in the quarter-finals, after which BC left the team.

Following a three month break from R6, BC returned as the new coach of the newly acquired DarkZero roster, a position he held for the first half of Season 9 before replacing Owen "Pojoman" Mitura as a player on the team. Since then, DarkZero qualified for both the Season 9 and 10 Pro League Finals, losing to the eventual champions in both events, went out of DreamHack Montreal 2019 in the quarter-finals at the hands of Team BDS and defeated Fnatic at the Raleigh Major before an early group stage exit. Now, he leaves this player role to move back to coaching to make room for the new entrant, Ecl9pse.

Ecl9pse, on the other hand, had been a part of Rogue since the very first Six Invitational after rotating through a number of rosters in Year 1. Since joining, he’s won at DreamHack Valencia 2019 and the 2018 US Nationals, finished as runners-up at the 2017 Six Invitational and DreamHack Montreal 2018, and has gone out in the quarter-finals in Seasons 4, 5, and 8, DreamHacks Montreal 2019, Valencia 2018, and the Allied Esports Minor.

This history makes him one of the most experienced players in the world, and following Rogue’s demotion from the Pro League this season, he has finally left this team to join the top-seeded North American roster of DarkZero Esports just a week after the ex-Team Reciprocity player of Alexander "Skys" Magor also made the move in what has been called a North American “super-team”.

DarkZero’s next game will be in just a few weeks against Spacestation Gaming at the US Nationals 2019 Finals where this new-look roster will debut with the following lineup:
