Luminosity and DarkZero Esports qualify for Siege's Esports World Cup

Canadian at the Six Invitational 2024

Luminosity Gaming and DarkZero Esports have qualified for the Esports World Cup after defeating Spacestation Gaming and Soniqs, respectively.

The blue roster was the biggest upset of the qualifier after back-to-back wins against M80 and a 2-0 victory against Spacestation Gaming in the team's semi-final appearance. Therefore, the Esports World Cup will be the first time we see Luminosity Gaming competing in a Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege international competition.

Before this weekend, the organization's closest attempt was a second-place finish at the Six Invitational 2020 Closed Qualifiers, where the organization lost against the eventual champions Spacestation Gaming. Curiously enough, the tables have turned four years later as Luminosity Gaming qualified for the Esports World Cup after defeating the astronauts.

Meanwhile, DarkZero Esports clinched a spot to compete in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, after wins against Wildcard and Soniqs. So far, the purple squad is the only BLAST R6 Major Manchester bound to have qualified for the Esports World Cup. Later today, Spacestation Gaming could follow as they will play against Soniqs for the region's last spot to compete in the main tournament.
