DWG KIA today announced that they have released Heo "CATsang" Se-woong from his contract.
CATsang recently became obligated to serve his 18 to 21 months national service in Korea, which had meant that he had to sit out of the final two games in the APAC North Division and also did not take part in the Japan Invitational 2022.
The Korean player also missed the semi-final of the Korean Open 2022 Autumn playoffs due to his then-looming national service.
Filling in for him was DWG KIA assistant coach Park "PJH" Jae-hyun, who formerly also played for T1. The team had begun to search for a new player on Oct. 13 itself, when CATsang had received a notice from the Military Manpower Administration that instructed him to enlist one month later.
