The four Asia-Pacific (APAC) teams of Fnatic, ViewSonic.DarkSided, Athletico Esports, and NORA-Rengo will go head-to-head with each other in games that are sure to get the PAX Australia 2018 crowd going.

Held on the 27th of October in Melbourne, the Six Masters 2018 tournament will be a one-day affair. It will take place on the ESL Stage of PAX, and will offer a combined A$25,000 prize pool, with the winner getting a massive A$15,000 slice of the pie. Outside of the APAC Pro League Finals, this will be the biggest tournament in the region to date.

The Brand & Esports Manager at Ubisoft Australia, Sebastian Østfeldt had the following to say.

The Rainbow Six esports scene continues to explode in popularity all over the world, and Australia and New Zealand are no exception. The Six Masters represents the first step in our long-term plan to establish Rainbow Six as a mainstay esports title in the ANZ and APAC regions, and we’re incredibly excited to deliver this tournament to our passionate community.

NORA-Rengo will be the outsiders at the Six Masters 2018, hailing from Japan, while the other three teams will enjoy home support. The event will be taking place right in the middle of the of the Season 8 APAC Finals in Tokyo and Season 8 Finals in Rio de Janeiro, with a 2-week gap to each LAN. However, even if one or two of the four teams attending PAX qualify for the Season 8 Finals, it is unlikely they will be holding back thanks to the prize money on offer.

Tickets can be purchased here, and the event will be livestreamed on the official Rainbow6ANZ Twitch channel from an estimated timing of 10AM AEST (GMT+10) onwards.
