Black Ops 6 Season 6: Everything you need to know about The Haunting

Last one for Black Ops 6

Black Ops 6 Jason Vorhees

Season 6 is coming to Black Ops 6 and Warzone, and it will be the last one in the post-launch cycle of the game. Although the attention is shifting more towards Black Ops 7, this season still has a few things to offer, including the return of a popular event.

Now that the first details and trailer have been revealed, we have prepared a summary with all the information available at the moment.

When does Season 6 of Black Ops 6 and Warzone come out?

Season 6 of Black Ops 6 and Warzone is scheduled to start on Thursday, October 9, at 9:00 AM PT (6:00 PM BST). An update will add all the new content at that time, and players should be able to preload it before its release.

The season should last around eight weeks, staying active even after Black Ops 7 launches. We expect the season to conclude around December 4, which is probably when Season 1 of the new game will start.

Trailer

In case you haven't seen it or if you want to give it another look, here is the trailer for Season 6:

As you can see, this season is titled The Haunting, just like previous years' Halloween events, and it features some new collaborations with other horror franchises.

New multiplayer maps

The season brings four new multiplayer maps, with one of them being a variation of a classic map. Here is the list along with a few details:

  • Gravity (Available at launch): 6v6, medium-sized map.
  • Rig (Available at launch): 6v6, small-sized map.
  • Mothball (Available at launch): 6v6/2v2, small-sized map.
  • Boo-Town (Available at launch): 6v6, small-sized map.

New weapons

The game is also receiving four new weapons during this season, and here is the complete list along with some extra details:

  • Dresden 9mm (SMG): Available at launch through the battle pass
  • Merrick 556 (Assault Rifle): Available at launch through the battle pass
  • Chainsaw (Melee): Available in-season as an event reward
  • X52 Resonator (Special): Available in-season as an event reward

Two new weapon attachments will also be added, with the GPR91 Double-Barrel Conversion being the first one. This one adds a second barrel to the GPR91, allowing the weapon to fire two bullets at once but reducing its fire rate.

The second attachment is the GPMG-7 Muzzle Booster, which improves bullet velocity and increases the fire rate over time of the GPMG-7 LMG.

New modes

The season has two new modes in store, one for multiplayer and one for Zombies.

Slasher Deathmatch

The multiplayer mode is titled Slasher Deathmatch and will be available at launch. Here is the official description: "Each match lasts four rounds total. At the start of each round, two of the eight survivors are randomly chosen to take on the role of a slasher. A new pair of slashers are picked each round until all eight players have had the chance to play as one."

The slashers' and survivors' abilities will vary, depending on the character. Here are the abilities for each one:

Jason Vorhees

  • Jason’s Abilities
  • Rage Mode (Scorestreak): Jason gains temporary immunity to stuns and survivors won’t detect Jason until he’s nearby. Rage Mode lasts five seconds, though the countdown pauses while in active pursuit of a survivor.
  • Teleport (Field Upgrade): Teleports Jason to a random survivor.
  • Stalking (Passive Ability): Jason descends on survivors who fall within his line of sight, moving with an unnerving pace that quickens slightly as he closes in.
  • Loadout: Jason wields a Machete as his Primary Weapon with a Combat Axe for ranged support.
  • Survivor Abilities
  • Loadout: At the start of the round, survivors are provided with a Flashbang, but no lethal weapons. The final survivor is awarded with a Pickaxe that can eliminate Jason.

Chucky

  • Chucky’s Abilities
  • Extra Lives: Go down and get back up again with a total of six lives.
  • Speed (Passive Ability): The slashers move faster than the survivors.
  • Loadout: The slashers wield a Combat Knife as their Primary Weapon with a Combat Axe for ranged support.
  • Survivor Abilities
  • Loadout: Survivors are provided with a Shock Charge and Molotov at the start of the round. Unlike in Slasher Deathmatch: Jason, these will recharge over time. The recharge rate is faster than normal, and even faster as the final survivor.

Haunted Havoc

The new mode for Zombies is called Haunted Havoc, and it will be available on all six maps (Reckoning, Shattered Veil, The Tomb, Citadelle des Morts, Terminus, and Liberty Falls).

Rampage Inducer is activated right from the start in this mode. Zombies will have Jack-'o-Lantern heads, and their health has been reduced until round 15, but their damage output has been increased to make up for that. Maps will have decorations more fitting for Halloween, like pumpkins and animated skeletons.

Other details

Here are other details about the Season 6 content so you don't miss out on anything important:
