It's a nice day to be an XDefiant fan as Ubisoft revealed more information about their shooter and the upcoming release of Season 1, which should come to the game on July 2.

While Ubisoft unveiled many details regarding XDefiant's Season 1, many players were looking forward to knowing more about the game's competitive playlist. Fortunately, it's coming with Season 1.

Here's everything you need to know about the game's upcoming competitive game mode: Ranked.

Ranked playlists

XDefiant's competitive playlist, also known as Ranked, will include the following four 4v4 game modes:

  • Ocuppy
  • Domination
  • Zone Control
  • Escort

However, the rules won't be exactly the same as the ones used on Casual. Ubisoft decided to make the following changes to the different playlists that will be included on Ranked:

  • Ocuppy: Unlike in Casual, where zones rotate randomly, Ranked's Ocuppy will see the zones rotating in a predetermined order.
  • Domination: Each team will play one side of the map for five minutes, meaning the match will be divided into two halves of five minutes each.
  • Zone Control: Teams will take turns as attackers and defenders. Unlike in Casual, the defenders will be able to push back attackers' capture progress.
  • Escort: No changes have been made.

The players will be able to make themselves a space in XDefiant's official ranks. Here's how the Ranked system will work starting with the game's Season 1:

XDefiant's Rank ladder is divided into seven ranks, including the following:

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Ruby
  • Emerald
  • Diamond
  • Legends

Players who finish among the best 500 players in the game will be given a special award, which hasn't been specified yet.

Ranked matchmaking

Although players will be allowed to queue as a full squad of four, there is one limitation: the difference between the highest and the lowest-leveled players must be no less than 15 levels. Additionally, starting from Diamon, the party size will be limited to two players.
