Battlefield 6 beta hits massive queue before it even launches

Server not live? Doesn't matter. The queue is ready.

Battlefield 6 campaign dark alley

The Battlefield 6 open beta hasn't even started yet, but it is already overloaded with player demand, with more than 23,000 users who are currently stuck in the queue just to access the main menu.

Despite the beta not going live until August 7, Steam recorded over 9,400 concurrent players on August 4, the same day that preloading began. Preloads are also open on other platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the EA App, and the actual player counts could likely be higher.

Players who wanted to modify their settings or prepare for the early access launch were hit with long wait times and inconsistent server behavior. Many Reddit users reported receiving error warnings or being thrown back to the queue after finally reaching the front.

Currently, the client is simply allowing players to access menus, and there isn't actual gameplay, but seeing the high demand, it seems like EA's servers will definitely see some serious action once the beta begins.

Early access to the beta is said to start on August 7 for Battlefield Labs registrants, EA Play Pro members, and those who got early access through the Twitch drops. The full beta will run from August 9 to 10, with the second public weekend scheduled for August 14-17. The full version of Battlefield 6 is set to release on October 10, 2025.

So, for now, Battlefield enthusiasts can only hope that these early queues aren't a sign of what will happen once the floodgates open fully.
