There's not much Valorant fans may be asking Santa this year after the recent Neon nerf. Maybe a Kuronami or Prelude to Chaos Vandal skin, or even knowing what Agent 27 will bring to Valorant.
However, with the temperatures getting cold in the northern hemisphere, many countries there are starting to get some snow. The closest Valorant fans can get to snow though is playing a match on Icebox. Or is there any other way?
Well, in the past, there was a better way to feel the Christmas spirit in Valorant. On December 15, 2020, and until December 26 of the same year, Valorant players had the chance to play a time-limited Team Deathmatch game mode called Snowball.
Those who joined the Valorant community in the last three years probably don't know much about this time-limited game mode.
In Snowball, Valorant players were divided into two teams of five players each. The first team to reach 50 kills would win.
While players could pick any agent they wanted, they could only fight on the battlefield with a Snowball Launcher, a weapon that would launch snowball projectiles. Each projectile would deal 150 damage. In other words, they would instantly kill anybody.
Snowball also included different orbs that would give players some presents. These orbs would give players some power ups, including:
- Growball: Snowballs grow over time after being thrown
- Rapid Fire: Infinite magazine and increased rate fire
- Ricochet: Snowballs can bounce back any surface
- Skates: Increased movement speed as well as increased maximum jump height
Snowball was so warmly welcomed by the Valorant community that the fans voted for it to be back in December 2021. Although Snowball made it to the game in 2021, it didn't return in 2022... or 2023.
So, an obvious question arises: will Valorant's Snowball time-limited game mode return this year?
Well, if you're still hoping for Snowball to make a return in 2024, we have bad news for you: it's likely we won't see Snowball this Christmas.
While nothing has been confirmed, Snowball has always been included in Valorant between the second week and the third week of the month. Although Riot Games could surprise the fans later this month, that's unlikely as no leaks haven't been released so far. However, we will update this article as soon as any information appears.
