Who is Nøkk in Rainbow Six Siege?

Nøkk is probably the most mysterious of all Rainbow Six Siege operators. Her identity is a secret and her face has never been seen. With so much of her biography redacted, it's left the Rainbow Six Siege community wondering who is behind the veil. 

Why is Nøkk's identity a secret? 

According to Nøkk's official profile on Ubisoft's site, her identity is a secret due to her records being sealed at NATO Confidential security clearance. Her files were released to Rainbow Six Siege however. 

Here is what we do know about the mysterious operator: 

Nøkk enlisted in the Army NCO School in Sønderborg followed by the Royal Danish Military Academy. She graduated at the rank of First Lietenant. After four deployments, Nøkk underwent special operations training including covert ops, combat search and rescue, direct action, special recon, arctic warfare, and advanced breaching. 

After that, Nøkk served in Afghanistan and Iraq "oftne alone in deep undercover behind enemy lines." Her identity is kept a secret due to active missions where her life would be in danger if her identity was revealed. For that reason, Nøkk also keeps her identity hidden from all other Rainbow Six operators. 

Who is Nøkk in Rainbow Six Siege? 

While we may never know who Nøkk is, she still had to get a psychological evaluation to join Rainbow Six. For that reason, we have some insight into her personality and life. 

Nøkk's father is apparently known to Rainbow Six. She has also been very close to her mother, who she considers a best friend. This is most likely because of her distant relationship with her father and his family. Nøkk still felt no resentment towards her absent father, however, and was fine following in his footsteps and serving Queen and Country. 

"Her Darwinist outlook isn’t rooted in her own safety, but rather the betterment of the soldiers of her unit and her country," her psychological report reads. 

Nøkk is known to be great at keeping secrets (which isn't much of a surprise). 

Nøkk loadout, ability, and gadget in Rainbow Six Siege

So what does someone as mysterious as Nøkk do in Rainbow Six Siege? Nøkk has an ability called the HEL, a glove attachment that makes her completely silent when activated. Her image is also hidden from opponents and their observation tools, including Drones, Bulletproof Cameras, and more. Nøkk is used for sneaking around the map undetected, gathering intel on the enemy team for her own squad.

How to play Nøkk

Nøkk is for players that want to go out solo and disrupt the enemy. For this reason, it's very important to have incredible map knowledge.

Your usual mission is to gather intel at the start of a match, including enemy locations and traps. This makes you very important at the start of the match but not as powerful of a teammate in the later parts of the match.

In the middle of the match, focus on taking out other roamers but don't get too trigger-happy. Purposely looking for engagements may be dangerous since she isn't the most powerful operator.
