Operation Collision Point has finally dropped in Rainbow Six Siege and, despite the huge hype around the final season of Year 9, Siege fans are already complaining about one feature: shields.
Shields being overpowered in Rainbow Six Siege is no news to anyone. After Ubisoft acknowledged the problem during Operation Twin Shells, the designing team decided to heavily nerf shields in Operation Collision Point.
Despite lowering the strength of shield operators, the release of Blackbeard's rework has made shields even more present in the game as now most of the attacking lineups include Blitz and Blackbeard. By now, we can already say the duo will cause frustration among defenders, as they are extremely hard to stop due to the combination of their shields and operator ability or weapon.
While players can easily get rid of Blitz by just banning the German attacker, the same can't be said about Blackbeard. We have got bad news for you, because players won't be able to ban Blackbeard in Operation Collision Point until December 18.
For those unaware, brand-new operators or operator reworks can't be banned from Ranked matches during the first two weeks of the season. This also applies to new maps.
The reason why Ubisoft implemented this decision was to force players to adapt to the challenges that new operators and new maps would create in the game. While doing so, Ubisoft's developers would also be able to get more feedback from the community.
With Blackbeard currently dominating the Rainbow Six Siege attacking meta, some players are already looking forward to the day when Blackbeard will be bannable. Until then, you can try to counter them using trap operators and even Oryx.
