Phoenix is a Valorant agent and one of the game's seven Duelists. Phoenix has been in Valorant since the release of its Closed Beta.
Abilities
Phoenix has five abilities, which are divided into four categories: Passive, Basic, Signature, and Ultimate. Let's have a look at all of them:
Passive - Heating Up
Phoenix's Passive ability is Heating Up, which allows his flames to restore his health. As nobody else has this passive ability, other agents are damaged by his flames. Heating Up restores a maximum of 50 HP.
Basic - Blaze
Blaze allows Phoenix to deploy a huge firewall that damages anybody who touches it — including teammates. Blaze lasts for 8 seconds and it's activated by pressing C.
Keep in mind that, thanks to his Heating Up ability, Phoenix can restore his health using Blaze.
Basic - Curveball
Curveball is an ability that allows Phoenix to release a fire orb that blinds anyone who looks at it when it's triggered. The effects of the flash last for 1.5 seconds and the ability is activated by pressing Q.
Signature - Hot Hands
Hot Hands allows Phoenix to throw a Fireball that can be used to damage his enemies. Once it's deployed on the floor, Hot Hands will last for 3.25 seconds.
Just like with Blaze, Phoenix's Heating Up allows him to use Hot Hands to heal.
Ultimate - Run It Back
Run It Back is Phoenix's Ultimate ability. It places a mark on Phoenix's location once it's activated, which creates a copy of himself. The ability lasts for 10 seconds. Once an enemy kills Poenix's copy, the British agent goes back to his initial location.
To activate Run It Back, Phoenix must get six Ultimate Points.
How to use Phoenix in Valorant?
As we mentioned earlier, Phoenix is a Duelist. When you play as a Duelist, your teammates expect you to command their attacks. Duelists are the agents who get the most kills, so players who use them tend to be excellent in terms of mechanical skills.
As a duelist, Phoenix is great. Both Blaze and Hot Hands make him self-sufficient, as he can deal damage to their opponents while also healing himself.
Phoenix must be used differently depending on whether you're playing on offense or defense. Here are some of our best tips!
Phoenix on offense
When playing on offense, Phoenix must be aggressive. His abilities can be used to heal himself when he has barely survived a gunfight. Both Blaze and Hot Hands come in handy as he can restore up to 50 HP with them. If you find yourself in such a situation, we advise you to use Blaze.
As his Curveball can be used to flash the enemies, Phoenix can blind the opposition before rushing them. However, you must be clinical with your shots, as the enemies will be only blinded for 1.5 seconds.
Finally, Phoenix's Run It Back ability is perfect not just for dealing damage to the enemies but also for gathering crucial information like what utility the enemy lineup has, where are the enemies located, and more. All of this can be used for a more coordinated push and, ultimately, to create a safer site to plant.
Phoenix on defense
Phoenix's abilities are the same on defense, but their purposes may be a bit different.
When you find yourself in a defensive situation with Phoenix, you can use Blaze and Hot Hands to block the enemy's pushes. His firewall created by activating Blaze can block the opponent's path for eight seconds. The same can be said about Hot Hands!
